Android Warranty and Country-of-Origin Checks by IMEI

Outside Apple and Samsung, Android warranty data is scattered — but it is still the fastest way to date a device and to spot a grey import. This page collects the brand checks in one place, explains what each one returns, and how to read it when the answer is "no record".

Short answer. These checks answer a question that decides what to do next, and they cost cents. Run the identity and lock checks first, then the blacklist check, and only then order an unlock.

What the message actually means

Warranty lookups return the manufacture or activation date and, for most brands, the country the device was intended for. That tells you whether the seller's "bought last month" is true, and whether the handset is a regional model with a different firmware and frequency set.

A "no record" answer is itself useful: it usually means grey import, an unregistered replacement unit, or a tampered IMEI.

What you are seeing

Step 1 — check before you spend

  1. Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO full info check — warranty, MI account, MIUI lock and country.
  2. Huawei check and Honor check — warranty and country.
  3. Oppo / OnePlus / Realme check — with replacement flag.
  4. Vivo / iQOO, Nothing, ZTE, Lenovo, Alcatel, Acer, Doogee.

Step 2 — what to do with the answer

  1. Pick the brand's check.
  2. Read the dates against what the seller claimed.
  3. Check the origin country against the network bands you need.
  4. Run the blacklist check separately — warranty data says nothing about it.

The free route fails for one of four reasons, and only the last one needs money: the device is still financed; the account was closed with a balance; the buyer is not the account holder; or the IMEI is reported. Everything else is a paperwork problem the carrier can fix.

These are a few cents each and they answer the questions a used-phone buyer actually has: how old is it, where did it come from, is it a replacement. They are not a substitute for the blacklist and carrier checks, which cover different records.
