IMEI Check
Check a Samsung Phone by IMEI or Serial: Carrier, Warranty, Knox Guard
Samsung devices carry their own traps: a country-of-origin mismatch, an MDM enrollment, or a Knox Guard lock. One report answers all three.
Last reviewed 2026-10-26
Samsung is the largest Android brand in circulation, and its records expose more than most: country of origin, carrier, warranty, and the Knox Guard state that silently re-locks enterprise devices.
That makes a Samsung check valuable both for buying and for diagnosing a phone that will not let you in.
Fields worth reading
- Country and region of manufacture: catches global model claims when the device is actually a locked regional variant.
- Carrier association: the value you need before ordering an unlock.
- Warranty and purchase date: age and coverage.
- Knox Guard (KG) state: whether the device is enrolled in a resale or lease guard. A KG-locked device cannot be flashed back to normal use.
- GSMA combined listings: warranty, blacklist and Knox in one report for purchase decisions.
Important
Knox Guard is separate from Knox, the security platform you enable yourself, and from MDM. Only Knox Guard is a lease or retail lock that survives a factory reset.Which report to buy
- Quick purchase check: carrier, country and warranty.
- Full purchase decision: warranty, carrier, GSMA blacklist and Knox Guard.
- Diagnosing a locked device: Knox Guard check alone, plus an MDM check if enterprise.
- Comparing two units before buying: identification report, which normalises the fields.

Frequently asked questions
What is Knox Guard and why does it matter?
Knox Guard is Samsung's device guard for leased and resale-locked handsets. A KG-locked phone shows a lock screen that returns after every reset.
Can a Knox Guard lock be removed?
Only by the party that enrolled the device, or through a service that explicitly supports KG. A stock flash does not remove it.
Does this check need a serial or IMEI?
Most Samsung checks accept the IMEI; some warranty services prefer the serial number.
