Remove FRP and Google Account Lock on Samsung and Xiaomi
Factory Reset Protection is triggered by the previous Google account after a reset. Here is how to identify FRP, MDM and device-admin locks on Samsung, Xiaomi, Realme and generic Android, and which service removes each.

After a factory reset, an Android phone asks for the Google account that was previously signed in. That is Factory Reset Protection (FRP), and it is not the same as an MDM profile, a Samsung/Knox enrollment, or a Xiaomi Mi account lock — although all four look like “the phone will not let me in”.
Ordering the wrong one is the reason many FRP attempts fail. Identify the lock first.
Identify which lock you have
- FRP / Google account: after reset the setup wizard asks for a Google account you do not have.
- Mi account lock (Xiaomi / Redmi / Poco): asks for the Mi account and offers Mi Unlock over the internet.
- Samsung Knox / enterprise enrollment: a company or school app installs itself and blocks settings.
- Device admin lock: a third-party app (often a parental or MDM app) holds device administrator rights.
- Carrier network lock: separate again — the phone boots and works but refuses foreign SIMs.
The safe order of operations
- 1Check whether the phone is network-locked before touching software — an FRP removal does not unlock the network.
- 2Check for MDM / Knox enrollment; if present, remove the enrollment first — otherwise a reset re-applies it.
- 3Remove FRP / Mi account lock for the correct brand and version.
- 4Flash stock firmware only if the software identity is broken (bootloop, wrong region ROM).
Important
A phone that still asks for the previous owner’s Google account after FRP removal is usually enrolled in MDM or has been re-locked remotely. Check before ordering a second removal.Services used in this guide

Frequently asked questions
Does FRP removal delete my data?
FRP is applied to a device that has already been reset, so there is normally no data left to lose. The removal process itself does not erase storage further.
Can FRP be removed without a PC?
Some procedures need a PC or a specific tool session. IMEI-based removal services are the exception: they are processed remotely and need no cable.
Is Xiaomi Mi account removal the same as bootloader unlock?
No. Mi account removal restores access to the phone; bootloader unlock is a separate developer permission used for flashing.
