iPhone Unlock
Unlock a Telcel, AT&T Mexico or Movistar iPhone
Mexican carriers sell almost everything on financed plans, so most devices that arrive for unlock are still under contract. Here is how the Mexican carriers differ and how to order.

Mexico is the largest Latin American market on the platform and the most plan-driven. Telcel and AT&T Mexico both finance handsets aggressively, so a device sold second-hand is usually still inside a payment plan.
That shapes the listings: Mexican carriers are split into out-of-contract and premium routes, and the premium route is the one that works on financed devices.
Carrier by carrier
- Telcel: out-of-contract listing for devices whose plan has completed; financed devices need the premium route.
- AT&T Mexico (including legacy Lusacell / Unefon / Nextel records): split by iPhone generation, from iPhone 8 / SE2 through iPhone 17 / Air / Pro Max.
- Movistar: out-of-contract listing plus unlock-code listings for Samsung, Motorola and generic Android.
- Generic Mexican carriers: unlock-code (NCK) listings at different success rates so you can trade price against certainty.
Choosing out-of-contract vs premium
Out-of-contract means the carrier's payment plan is finished. Premium means the carrier can still release the device despite an open plan, at a higher price and lower certainty. If you do not know whether the plan is finished, buy premium — an out-of-contract order on a financed device fails and costs you a refund cycle.
Important
Mexican unlock-code listings return a numeric code that must be typed into the device. If the phone is an iPhone, do not buy a code listing — iPhones are released by activation policy, not by code.Practical order
- 1Run a SIM lock check to confirm the carrier and the lock state.
- 2Confirm the iPhone generation or the Android model number.
- 3For Androids, confirm whether the listing is a code listing (NCK/MCK) or a policy unlock.
- 4Order the matching listing, then verify with a foreign SIM.

Frequently asked questions
Do Mexican iPhones work in the US after unlock?
Yes on LTE and 5G for modern models. Check the frequency bands if the device will be your daily phone rather than a resale unit.
What is an NCK unlock code?
A network unlock key derived from the IMEI that the device prompts for once a foreign SIM is inserted. It is used on Android and older feature phones, not on iPhones.
Why are there several listings with different success rates?
Each rate corresponds to a different supplier channel for the same carrier. Higher rates cost more because the channel is more reliable.
