iPhone Unlock
Unlock a Claro iPhone Across Latin America and the Caribbean
Claro operates in more than a dozen countries, but the unlock listings are organised by iPhone generation rather than by country. This page explains how the Claro listings work.
Last reviewed 2026-10-26
Claro sells in Colombia, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Puerto Rico and several smaller markets. The carrier database is shared enough that a single Claro listing covers multiple countries, which is why the listings are titled all countries.
The practical split is by iPhone generation.
How the Claro listings are organised
- Early generations (iPhone 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / X / XS / SE): a single broad listing.
- Mid generations (iPhone 11 through 15): separate listings per generation, with Puerto Rico called out explicitly.
- iPhone 16 and 17 series: their own listings.
- iPhone 18 series: the newest listing, added as devices reach the resale market.
Note
The Puerto Rico language in listing titles reflects that Claro PR records live in a US territory database. A Claro PR device is not a US Verizon or T-Mobile device.Confirm it is really Claro
The most common Claro order failure is a device that is not on Claro at all — often it is on a local MVNO that rides Claro's network. A SIM lock check names the actual carrier, which is the value you need before ordering.
- 1SIM lock check on the IMEI.
- 2If the result names Claro, order the listing for that generation.
- 3If it names a sub-brand or MVNO of Claro, contact support before ordering.
- 4If it names another carrier entirely, switch categories.

Frequently asked questions
Does one Claro listing cover all countries?
Mostly yes for iPhone. The listing titles say all countries because the Claro carrier channel is shared across its operating markets.
Can I unlock a Claro Android device?
Yes, through Claro's Android-side listings, which are often unlock-code products rather than policy unlocks.
Is Claro the same as Telcel?
No. Claro and Telcel are both America Movil brands, but separate carrier records with separate listings.
