Samsung Unlock Codes for Canadian Carriers
Canadian Samsung devices are frequently released by code rather than by database policy. This guide explains NCK and MCK codes, which carriers use them, and how to enter the code.

On Android, a carrier can release a device in two ways: by changing the database record (a policy unlock) or by issuing a one-time code derived from the IMEI. Canadian carriers lean heavily on the latter for Samsung.
The two codes you will see are NCK (network unlock key, removes the SIM lock) and MCK (multi-key, applies to multi-SIM or multi-network models).
NCK vs MCK
- NCK unlocks the device from one network. This is what most people need.
- MCK is used when the device is bound to multiple networks or requires secondary keys.
- Some listings supply both in one order, which is why titles read NCK + MCK.
- Codes are per IMEI and are consumed once. Do not share them.
Important
Never buy a code listing for an iPhone. iPhones unlock by activation policy. A code order on an iPhone IMEI will fail and is typically non-refundable.Entering the code
- 1Power the phone off and insert a SIM from a different carrier.
- 2Power on. The device should prompt for a network unlock PIN.
- 3Enter the NCK. Do not exceed the allowed number of attempts — repeated wrong entries can permanently lock the code prompt.
- 4If the prompt does not appear, the device may already be unlocked, or your SIM is on the same network.

Frequently asked questions
How many attempts do I get with an unlock code?
Typically a small number, often 3 to 10 depending on model. Enter it carefully and keep the original SIM nearby.
What if the code does not work?
Usually the model or the carrier was wrong. Return to a SIM lock and carrier check and confirm both before requesting another code.
Do codes survive a factory reset?
Yes. Once accepted, the unlock is stored in the device and persists through resets on most Samsung models.
