iPhone Unlock
Unlocking Xfinity Mobile and Spectrum Mobile iPhones
Comcast and Charter devices follow their own pay-off and active-period rules, and each has generation-split listings. This page covers both.
Last reviewed 2026-10-26
Xfinity Mobile and Spectrum Mobile both run on Verizon's network, but neither is a Verizon device for unlocking purposes. Each company applies its own purchase and payoff conditions.
Both carriers split their listings by iPhone generation, so the model check matters as much as the carrier check.
Xfinity Mobile conditions
- Device must be purchased at least 60 days before the unlock request.
- The device must be paid off — Xfinity sells devices on instalments.
- The listing covers specific generations; iPhone 17 has its own listing, while the clean listing covers XR through 15.
- Devices flagged as blacklisted are not candidates.
Spectrum Mobile conditions
- Similar 60-day active period after purchase.
- Device must be paid off and not reported.
- Spectrum devices resolve through the same carrier family as the other MVNOs on Verizon's network, so the eligibility check is the starting point.
Note
Both companies process unlocks in batches, so turnaround is measured in days rather than minutes even when the device is fully eligible. The pre-order checklist
- 1Identify the carrier: Xfinity, Spectrum and Verizon devices can look identical.
- 2Confirm the purchase date if possible — the 60-day rule is a hard gate.
- 3Confirm the iPhone generation and the matching listing.
- 4Check the blacklist status before paying for an unlock.

Frequently asked questions
Is an Xfinity unlock a Verizon unlock?
No. Xfinity devices carry an Xfinity policy even though the radio runs on Verizon's network.
Can a device under a Comcast promotion be unlocked?
Promotional devices usually have a payoff condition. If the balance is open, the unlock will be rejected until it is settled.
Do Spectrum and Xfinity use the same listing?
They are grouped in the US MVNO category but each has its own eligibility language. Match the listing to the carrier name shown in the check result.
