IMEI Check
Verify an iPhone's Exact Model, Colour and Storage by IMEI
A seller can claim any model. The IMEI record cannot. This check returns the model, colour and storage Apple has on file, plus the carrier and an estimated purchase date.

The most common resale misrepresentation is not a stolen phone — it is a device sold as a different model, colour or storage tier than it actually is. The price difference between a 128 GB and a 512 GB iPhone is large enough to be worth faking.
Because the model data lives in Apple's record keyed to the IMEI, one cheap check settles it.
What you get
- Marketing model name as Apple records it, not the seller's label.
- Colour and storage as recorded at manufacture.
- Model number and part number, which encode the sales region — the way to detect a US model that is actually a China or Middle East unit.
- Carrier association and an estimated purchase date.
Note
Colour and storage can legitimately differ from the record after a screen or housing replacement. Treat a mismatch as a prompt to inspect, not as proof of fraud.Model number regions that matter
- US models: mmWave support, eSIM-only on newer generations.
- China and Hong Kong models: dual physical SIM, no eSIM on many generations.
- Middle East and European models: regional band differences.
- A device sold as US unlocked that reports a China model number is the classic resale fraud case.
When this is not enough
This check tells you what the device was manufactured as. It does not tell you about blacklist status, replacement status, or activation lock. For a purchase decision, buy the identification report instead — it bundles the model data with blacklist, replacement, iCloud and MDM state in one order.

Frequently asked questions
Can the model number be spoofed?
Some clones spoof identifiers, but they are usually caught by other signals — for example the TAC resolving to a completely different chipset.
Does this check need a serial number?
Most variants accept the IMEI. Some Apple services require the serial number for iCloud and warranty data — check the input requirement on the listing.
What is the difference between model number and part number?
The model number identifies the hardware variant (region and connectivity); the part number identifies the specific configured SKU including colour and storage.
